TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to launch the official theme and logo for the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day at the Presidential Palace today, Friday, July 18, 2025.
“God willing, on Friday, July 18, Mr. President will be pleased to launch the theme and logo for the 80th Indonesian Independence Day,” said Deputy State Secretary Minister Juri Ardiantoro in a written message on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Following the launch, the logo and theme will be available for use by the public, as well as central and regional governments. These materials are expected to be displayed across various platforms to enhance the celebratory spirit.
Juri said the logo will appear in various forms of media, both outdoor and in strategic locations, to promote the anniversary.
“The President invites several relevant ministers. Logo designers and those involved in the event will also be present at the launch,” Juri added.
On a separate occasion, Juri addressed the government’s decision not to hold the main Independence Day ceremony in the new Nusantara Capital City (IKN). This year’s state ceremony, scheduled for August 17, 2025, will take place in Jakarta.
“IKN is still in the process of development, so we are focusing on its construction,” he explained.
However, Juri confirmed that the celebration will not be limited to Jakarta. The IKN Authority will also hold a ceremony at the Garuda IKN Palace in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan.
As for whether Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka will attend the ceremony in IKN, Juri said, “We will see later.”
